Estudio Lamela to Renovate the Generali Building at Alcalá, 21
Estudio Lamela to Renovate the Iconic Generali Building at Calle Alcalá, 21 in Madrid, Transforming It into the First Radisson Collection Hotel in the City
Radisson Hotel Group has leased the historic building from Generali Real Estate to open a 154-room hotel.
The project involves renovating the original structure designed by architect Lluis Bonet in the 1930s as the headquarters of Banco Vitalicio.
The hotel will preserve and restore the façades, the entrance hall, and the main staircase, all of which are protected elements requiring mandatory conservation. The reception and restaurant will be located on the first floor.
Building systems will be relocated within the structure, enabling the addition of a rooftop bar with 360º views over Madrid. This intervention will also enhance the building’s integration within its urban surroundings.
