The Andalusian Regional Government protects a building by Antonio Lamela
We’ve received great news published by Jesús Hinojosa of the Diario de Málaga newspaper:
The Regional Government of Andalusia is in the process of protecting a building built in 1971 in La Malagueta (Málaga) by Antonio Lamela for its architectural values. The resolution states:
“The property sets forth a residential scheme characterized by clarity and compositional purification, the liberation of the ground floor spaces (favoring transparency in relation to the postulates of the Modern Movement), the promotion of plastic of the construction elements (with special emphasis on the sculptural pillars of the exposed concrete which support and elevate the building above the level of the coastal front) and the facade treatment, in which an interesting arrangement of terraces is deployed with natural wood in the carpentry and protection elements.”
Formerly, its portal had already been protected, “a space of great architectural and environmental quality, characterized by transparency, the facade treatment of the partition wall in ceramic modules, integrated furniture, use of natural-colored wood and an interesting interplay of direct and indirect lighting.”
