Carlos Lamela in the ‘Expansión’ newspaper: “In fifty years, houses will be built in factories”
“There’s no reason for houses not to be built in factories such as it is with cars. What is surprising is that it’s taking so long in being standardized,” Carlos Lamela shares with the economic newspaper Expansión in a lengthy article about the relation of architecture with industrialized construction.
For years, Estudio Lamela has been at the forefront of the great possibilities presented by the industrialization of the residential market. In 2011 in fact, with prefabricated modules, the studio designed the residences of Real Madrid’s First Team and Reserve Team in the Ciudad Real Madrid.
This construction system, as Carlos Lamela explains so well in the newspaper, reduces the duration of works, contributes to an optimum control of processes, grants the best quality of finishes, and improves the conditions for work and security.
Currently, as cited by Expansión, the studio works in two industrialized developments in Madrid for developer AEDAS Homes, one in Cañaveral with 41 units, and another in Boadilla with 14 homes.
