Estudio Lamela publishes “Transport: World in Motion”
One of the sectors that stand out from Estudio Lamela’s work is that of transportation. It has developed close to 90 transportation and infrastructure projects that surpass over 1.6 million square metres where 150 million passengers pass through annually.
The publication release Transport: World in Motion compiles some of the most outstanding projects undertaken by Estudio Lamela in the recent years. It includes emblematic projects such as the New Terminal 4 at Madrid-Barajas Airport, the New Terminal Area at the Dutch Schiphol Airport, the Extension of Tijuana Airport (Mexico) and the Refurbishment of Terminals 1 and 2 at Barajas.
It also includes other projects of great impact in Europe such as the Line 2 of the Warsaw Metro (Poland) and the Extension of Warsaw Airport in the same central European city.
“Transport architecture should offer welcoming and passenger-centric buildings on which natural light dominates and where it would be simple to find direction. From the structural base to the most miniscule detail, all must contribute to aim that the traveller feels welcome. This is because airports and stations mustn’t only be places of transit, but also of encounter and shelter,” highlights Carlos Lamela, the president of Estudio Lamela.
