Estudio Lamela will undertake the expansion of the Guadalajara International Airport “Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla” (Mexico) with the creation of a new Terminal 2.

On February 11, Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), as part of its Master Development Plan 2025-2029, announced investments of over 22 billion pesos over the next five years for the Guadalajara airport.

The project aims to significantly transform and expand this important transportation infrastructure, located 17 km southeast of Guadalajara, which is vital for the region’s national and international connections.

Since its opening in 1966, the airport has undergone constant improvements and expansions. The new Terminal 2 will include the modernization of runways and loading systems with the goal to exceed 20 million passengers per year in the coming years. The design prioritizes functionality, sustainability, and energy efficiency, and will have three levels that will optimize passenger flow.
