Estudio Lamela, in collaboration with Mallorcan office SCT, will rebuild the legendary Formentor Hotel (Mallorca), the second Four Seasons in Spain

The famous Mallorcan landmark, a meeting spot for princes, actors, statesmen and writers in the 20th and 21st centuries, will maintain its hallmark: “A white line in the landscape”, and will be adapted to the current needs of sustainability and energy efficiency.

The goal is to turn the Hotel Formentor back into that Eden of luxury and culture that it always was.

The completion date of the project is forecasted for 2023. It will have more than 100 rooms, all with terraces and sea views.

Through the beautiful gardens of Hotel Formentor used to promenade Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, back in the time when they were Princes of Asturias.  Back in time, its 122 rooms have also hosted Winston Churchill, Grace Kelly and Rainiero de Mónaco, Charles Chaplin, Mario Vargas Llosa, Audrey Hepburn, Gary Cooper or Camilo José Cela.

Many of the great names of the 20th and 21st century have enjoyed this Arcadia surrounded by the natural landscape of Mallorca. Renowned Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges wrote: “Mallorca is something similar to happiness”.
