Málaga Rescue a ‘Jewel’ of Antonio Lamela from Destruction
A great announce: coinciding with the Architecture Week, the Historical Heritage Commission has agreed to protect the portal of the building of the Paseo marítimo Ciudad de Melilla no. 23 of Málaga, designed by Antonio Lamela, which the homeowners’ community had approved to demolish and wished to replace. Estudio Lamela extremely satisfied with the decision as we believe the portal is a gem of a piece for its spatial concept and flexibility. The report included, “it constitutes an exemplary piece, in which great architectural spaces and environmental quality are achieved, characterized by transparency, the facade treatment of the partition wall in ceramic modules, integrated furniture, use of natural-colored wood and an interesting interplay of direct and indirect lighting.”
