The Torres Colón (1969-2019) Exhibition has been extended until the 8th of December
The Teatro Fernán Gómez (Centro Cultural de la Villa) in Madrid has decided to extend the Torres Colón (1969-2019) Exhibition until the 8th of December which showcases the fifty-year construction of the Torres Colón (Columbus Towers).
The exhibition, which was launched on the 11th of April, is extended for another six months, an evidence of the interest the architectural and engineering landmark has sparked in the public.
Thousands of people have already toured the presentation that explains the project and its historical context in which it emerged, as well as the vicissitudes it had to overcome to be built.
Designed in 1969 by Antonio Lamela (Madrid, 1927-2017), one of the 20th century’s greatest architects, the Torres Colón is a symbol of the avant-garde architecture of Spain and the urban landscape of Madrid.
