NEW TERMINAL
BUILDING AT
TIJUANA AIRPORT
In a unique location, between the border of Mexico and the United States, the extension of Tijuana Airport improves the flights and transit between the two countries.
The expansion of the current Tijuana airport, designed alongside Lam Arquitectos, has the extraordinary condition of being located next to the border between Mexico and the United States, with the option of passing over a bridge that allows one to change countries without leaving the airport. The scheme proposes increasing the width of the boarding gates and the passenger boarding bridge and adding a new waiting room for remote flights. Additionally, the tender also asked for a hotel, an office building and a ground bus terminal, the latter being linked to the SUE through a garden that permitted crossed views between all the uses and understanding the operation of the group. Subsequently, a second extension was requested to solve the transit between the two countries and the connection for those users arriving on international flights that want to connect directly with the United States.
