KRAKOW
STADIUM
In the heart of Krakow, its football stadium is in dialogue with its surroundings through a ceramic envelope and a rectangular steel roof.
The new designed stadium fulfills the standards of III UEFA category and training stadium for Eurocup 2012.
Located in the heart of the city, it was designed as a part of the urban context using high quality materials like the ceramic envelope that is usually used in a different kind of architecture. The main idea of the project was to create a work that respects the conditions and the surroundings of its environment.
The stadium is crowned by a steel structure of a rectangular roof. The main beams are placed on columns visible on the façades, so that the division of the roof repeats the divisions of the façade. The east and west roofs are solid, while the north and east roofs are made of polycarbonate, so they can be illuminated from inside.
